Sueños

People, time, colors, objects, reality, the unknown, joy, doubt, fear ….

Sueños (dreams) are realized experiences that occur while we sleep, which cannot be controlled nor always be understood. Dreams can leave us wanting more, they can result in us questioning our life and they can evoke various emotions. It’s indeed a wild and strange phenomenon that we all share.

While on a trip to Mexico, Liza found herself exploring various cities, embarking on new experiences and meeting new people. During this time, she noticed her eyes were drawn to capturing events that had her question the reality she was in and reminded her of dreamlike states. Upon her return to Vancouver, she began to reflect more on this idea of dreams or as they say in Spanish “Sueños” and how that can be captured through photography. She therefore began to look at her photographic journey over the past few years (including travels within and outside of Canada) and selected 15 images that portray the notions of dreams and dreamlike states.
