About Me

Bio

I'm originally from the big, busy and bustling streets of Houston, Texas. I am a proud woman of color whose roots stem from Puerto Rico. Growing up in Houston exposed me to a diverse way of life full of culture, love and respect for one another. Now I am based in Vancouver, British Columbia on unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. I am a doctoral candidate in language and literacy education, specifically French language learning (oui, je parle français et espagnol!). When I'm not shaping the minds of future teachers in B.C., teaching French or working on my research, I am out and about with my camera exploring the city of Vancouver and beyond.

Expertise

I began taking pictures in high school where I learned the fundamentals of photography using film and the darkroom. Now my eyes have been behind the viewfinder for over 10 years. I shoot on film and digital.

I strongly believe that all we have in life are moments. Moments that bring us together, moments that remind us why we are here, moments that question our preconceived notions and moments that put things into perspective. These moments can last a second, an hour, a lifetime, and in order to remember them all, I take pictures.

Work with Me

Do you have an upcoming project or event? Do you want a photo session for you and/or your family? I'd love to meet and discuss ideas! Get in touch with me using my contact form to discuss rates, scheduling and more.

In addition, I would like to start a photography initiative that makes this form of art more accessible to children and adolescents in Vancouver. If this interests you, please reach out to me and we can begin to get this idea in motion.
